What you need
- Two large sheets of paper
- A marker or crayon
- Removable tape
Set up
Draw the same simple 3-by-3 grid on both sheets. Fill one grid with easy symbols—a circle, cross, face, sun, line, or triangle—and leave the other blank. Tape them on opposite sides of the room at child height.
How to play
Begin at the blank grid. The first messenger travels to the symbol grid, studies one symbol and remembers its square, then returns and draws it in the matching place. The messenger may look as long as needed, but carries only one symbol per trip.
After each delivery, swap messengers. Keep alternating until the blank grid matches the original, then erase it or make a fresh grid and begin again with new symbols.
There is no penalty for forgetting. Walk back for another look, then complete the delivery. Keep the route clear and use controlled travel rather than racing.
