Seven minutes to a steadier start

Morning Games

A collection of simple 7-minute parent-child movement games for young children. Each game is one continuous activity designed to make it fun to practice attention, balance, coordination, body awareness, impulse control, and calm, deliberate movement.

A

Send both fists along paired arrow routes at the same time.

B

Shuffle together while carrying a balloon in four different body positions without using your hands.

C

Point to a colour with one hand while covering its match in a second grid with the other.

Pick up two colours together and cross both hands to deliver them to opposite-side cups.

Keep a soft ball moving across a table using cups to corral, cover, and send it back.

Balance a paper cup on a capped marker, copy a partner's paths, and switch it between hands.

D

Draw through a field of dots together, changing the kind of line on every turn.

Send two soft balls to a partner at the same time and receive one with each hand.

H

M

Keep paired palms hovering like magnets while moving slowly and taking turns leading.

Carry one symbol at a time across the room from a reference grid to a blank copy.

Copy each other’s controlled movements as closely as possible, then swap leaders.

Find capped markers by touch and guide them into a container without looking.

P

Move cups across a tabletop one at a time while a soft pendulum swings through the route.

Waddle with a soft β€œegg” between your knees, follow changing routes, and freeze on cue.

Complete the missing sections of a picture drawn across a row of paper pieces.

Rotate and arrange four grid tiles to rebuild a simple block picture shown on a model card.

Bear-hop across a ring of sea-ice floes, help each other pass, and roar when a paw gets wet.

R

Work together to roll a paper ball along two ribbons and open a gap above the correct landing cup.

T

Follow the turtle trail with a cushion shell, then tuck into hiding when danger appears.

Find the same target in two scrambled grids and cover both with separate hands at once.
