Helps with
What you need
- A small scrunched-up paper ball or folded paper slip
- Masking tape
- A cup laid on its side
Set up
Tape two lines along a table to make a lane about a hand’s width apart. Lay the cup on its side at the far end as the goal.
How to play
Kneel at the start so your chin is close to the table. Blow the paper ball along the lane without touching it with your hands. If it rolls over a line, gently place it back where it left and keep going.
Take turns calling the kind of breath before each puff: a tiny “candle” breath, a long “wind” breath, or a big “balloon” breath. Notice how far each one sends the ball.
Then play together from opposite ends: one person blows the ball to the middle, the other blows it back, and you finish by steering it into the goal as a team.
Make it easier
Use a wider lane, a lighter paper slip, or a straw to aim the breath.
Make it harder
Add a bend to the lane with more tape, or set a number of puffs to reach the goal, such as “in five breaths exactly.”
